Jean-Paul Benoit Droin
Jean Paul & Benoît Droin is one of the oldest wine producers in Chablis with nearly 400 years of wine-growing history. The estate is well known for its spread of impressive vineyard land, including plots in five of the seven Chablis Grand Cru vineyards, the most important of which is Les Clos. The subsequent portfolio is based entirely on Chardonnay.
The domaine spans some 25 hectares (62 acres) of vineyard land. Most of this is in premier or grand cru vineyards – along with the grand cru wines, Jean Paul & Benoît Droin make wine from eight premier cru sites, including Montmains and Fourchaume. The domaine also makes Petit Chablis and standard Chablis wines.

Very well balanced. Mineral, lemon candy with a good acidity. Develops into a honey texture.

This wine has a toffee, sawdust, butter, apple and citrus flavour. Fairly complex and very enjoyable. Pale yellow colour. Smooth consistency.
